Japanese culture and nature preserved in the Iwate prefecture
17 August, 2016

Before construction began on the Yamada-Cho project near the city of Miyako in Japan’s Iwate Prefecture, Sonnedix Japan first worked with the Prefecture and independent environmental assessors to analyze the site for viability and ensure Sonnedix Japan work would not disturb the local habitat. Findings resulted in the restriction of a 600-square meter plot of land to preserve cultural artefacts dating from the Jomon period (ca. 10,500 to 300 BC) and the relocation of several bird nests and fauna specimens to protect them. Only once these resources were accounted for and removed from harm’s way did Sonnedix Japan progress with construction plans.
