In February 2020, the University of Jaén visited Sonnedix Linares Solar plant, located in the municipal area of Linares, in the province of Jaén. This southern part of the Spain holds a strong potential in terms of irradiation levels, being one of the highest of Europe. And that makes our Linares plant a perfect example of how it is possible to produce clean energy from a renewable energy resource.

At Sonnedix, we are committed to establishing a long-term relationship with the communities in the locations where we operate, and in particular with schools. By providing educational support focused on the opportunities and challenges presented by renewable energy, we can inspire future generations to overcome the problems of climate change. Our expanding education programme offers the chance for students of all ages to have a workshop with the Sonnedix team about climate change or renewable energy or to visit one of our plants to see first hand the solar technology.

In line with that, we continue working together with the University of Jaén - one of the most specialised photovoltaic universities – in several collaborative projects. During the recent visit, the students had the opportunity to see first-hand what they learn in the classroom, helping them broaden their knowledge and build curiosity towards renewable energy.
