Sonnedix is a leading international renewable energy producer with over a decade-long trajectory of sustainable growth

About Sonnedix
Global Portfolio

We develop, build, and operate renewable energy projects for the long-term, focusing on providing green, affordable electricity to our customers and communities, and acting as a true social citizen there where we operate.

Sonnedix is playing a role in fulfilling Colorado’s renewable energy goal of 100% green energy generation by 2040.

Our story in the United States of America dates to 2011, when we entered the Puerto Rican* market. Since then, we have grown to have a development pipeline of over 600 MW in the country, focusing on other areas, such as Colorado.
*Sonnedix sold its Puerto Rico portfolio in 2021.

With a total capacity of over 9GW worldwide, we continue expanding our global portfolio through the acquisition, development, and conversion of solar, wind, and storage projects around the world.

Sonnedix Solar Fountain, 143MW

We are contributing to the energy transition and sustainable development of El Paso County, Colorado, by developing, building, and operating the 143 megawatt (MW) solar PV (photovoltaic) facility of Sonnedix Solar Fountain. The project covers an area of approximately 1,840 acres of land which is owned by the Colorado State Land Board in unincorporated El Paso County.

The solar PV plant will connect to the Midway Substation, owned by the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), west of the project. We are currently studying several general transmission tie-in corridors and are fully committed to the transmission line location that minimizes the impacts towards El Paso County’s resources, residents, and environment.

The plant is expected to commence its construction phase within the second half of 2024. During this time, we will generate approximately 600 jobs for members of the local community, boosting El Paso’s economy.

Once built, it is estimated that Sonnedix Solar Fountain will generate around 312,670 MWh of 100% clean, renewable energy capable of powering more than 36,000 American homes every year.
