Madrid, Spain - Sungrow, a global leader in photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems (ESS), and Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company with 4 GW in operation, have signed a supply agreement for 643.8 MWh of Sungrow’s PowerTitan 2.0 solution for the Sonnedix Librillo BESS Project in Chile. The project will feature a 5-hour ESS system, with delivery and installation scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

This collaboration supports Sonnedix's strategy to scale battery storage solutions that complement its renewable assets and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable energy system.

Jorge Amiano, Chief Engineering Officer at Sonnedix, commented: “Sungrow has partnered with us on numerous solar projects over the years. We are now delighted to extend this collaboration to battery energy storage with the Sonnedix Librillo BESS project in Chile - the first agreement of its kind between the two companies. Sungrow’s global presence and technical expertise make it the ideal partner to further expand our storage capabilities and continue delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions.”

Sungrow will supply 128 units of its PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled system and 32 medium-voltage cells (MVS) for the standalone Sonnedix Librillo BESS Project. Engineered to maximise operational flexibility, Sungrow’s technology enables night-time power supply and contributes significantly to the integration of clean energy in the country, reinforcing a reliable service and ensuring high performance and long-term profitability.

Javier Blanco, Country Manager for Spain and Portugal at Sungrow Europe, added: “The Librillo Project represents an important milestone for the development of energy storage in Chile and reflects the growing need for flexible and reliable solutions to support the country’s energy transition. We are proud that Sonnedix has entrusted Sungrow with the storage technology for this project, a choice driven by the competitiveness, safety, and high performance of our flagship utility-scale battery solution, PowerTitan. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to supporting strategic projects that contribute to a more resilient and sustainable electricity system in the long term.”
